Your Subterranean blogger and show talent booker went to see Lykke Li last Thursday at a new club in our lovely NYC called Le Poisson Rouge. HOLYMOTHEREFFINGCRAPBOMBJESUSHCHRIST. It was the best, greatest, most amazing, artistic, wonderful, engaging, borderline genius, lovely, fantastic show both of us had seen since…well, probably since we went to see The Knife play at CMJ two years ago. We already liked the album but hot damn did her show blow us away.

We immediately started a flury of emails in the office to get her booked for this, that and the other - we’ll let you know if anything comes of it. However, we’re apparently not her only fans.

We’d heard rumors and little things about the venerable Kurt Loder being very into Lykke Li and it turns out those rumors were truth. Loder turns in his first music article in literally years for MTV News on Lykke’s show and the phenomenon that she is - go read the review and watch the performance snippet below.
